2022 was a record-breaking year for APMP during Steven's tenure as Chair. It was the year of the "sustainable, premium membership experience worldwide" and the best year since the association was founded 34 years ago in 1989. Steven and APMP
A member since 2002, Steven served on the APMP Board of Directors for six years from January 2018 to December 2023, including as Vice Chair, Chair, and Past Chair. During Steven's leadership as Chair, association membership grew by 12.3%, certification increased by 124%, and the Board approved a hyper-investment of more than $200,000 in APMP’s infrastructure to create or update services and benefits for members to enjoy. Steven created the #ProudToBeAPMP hashtag in 2017 and, in 2019, was responsible for the creation of APMP's certification digital badge programme.

What is APMP's stance on diversity, equity and inclusion?
In 2022, APMP created the first DE&I Strategic Roadmap to help ensure that all members are equally considered for employment, speaking and volunteer roles. The association hired Camica Credle, a DE&I expert to score APMP’s DE&I Strategic Plan. Our request to Ms. Credle was to review our five-year DE&I strategic plan, evaluate its intention, grade progress to date, and advise APMP’s Board on strengths and areas of development. APMP is committed to combatting bias and being more culturally competent.
